This GPT Instruction is for the Master Boot Drive which allows your hard drive to detect greater than 2TB. I will add in instruction for secondary drives later!
UPDATE!! YOU MUST HAVE UEFI MODE ENABLED IN BIOS for anything greater than 2TB to work!!
Step-by-step guide
- First boot into Windows Installation Screen with UEFI mode CD/ROM OR UEFI Shell.
- Use command prompt by pressing shift+F10 anytime during installation screen.
- Type in DiskPart to go into Diskpart.
- List disk to see what drive you will need to select to format.
- Clean the disk you want to set for GPT.
- Type convert GPT to change it to GPT
You are done! Now modify the disk size to your specifications.
