This GPT Instruction is for the Master Boot Drive which allows your hard drive to detect greater than 2TB. I will add in instruction for secondary drives later!

UPDATE!! YOU MUST HAVE UEFI MODE ENABLED IN BIOS for anything greater than 2TB to work!!

Step-by-step guide

  1. First boot into Windows Installation Screen with UEFI mode CD/ROM OR UEFI Shell.
  2. Use command prompt by pressing shift+F10 anytime during installation screen.
  3. Type in DiskPart to go into Diskpart.
  4. List disk to see what drive you will need to select to format.
  5. Clean the disk you want to set for GPT.
  6. Type convert GPT to change it to GPT
